All Over But the Shoutin'

We all enjoyed All Over But the Shoutin', by Rick Bragg. Everyone seemed to agree on the quality of the writing and the interest in the story. We enjoyed some speculation about psychological aspects of Bragg's past and how it affected his life, eg, where he got his motivation, and whether he is capable of intimacy. We felt that Bragg was able to tell about some misery without seeming to merely give us a victim story. My husband is now enjoying the audiotapes. The reader on these tapes happens to be very good! I always find it interesting to know when the husbands enjoy our books!
