I picked up a kitchen knife to cut something yesterday and felt what a grand freedom it is! I hope you're all enjoying Bel Canto, by Ann Patchett, as much as I did! It's a page turner, at least I thought it was, but still there is plenty of material there for discussion!
What do you suppose happened at our discussion of Bel Canto? Several of us had not finished the book - this book does not lend itself well to discussing it before you're finished with it! I felt kind of sorry for those few...I think some of them regretted not having finished the book. Jackie led us through some interesting questions about the characters and interactions. And, of course, we had extensive discussion about the ending. Was it another crummy ending, or did it have to end that way, or what? You decide!
Welcome to our Book Discussion Group Blog! Here you find all our news and write-ups of our book discussions! To look for a blog entry about a book, use the search box at the top left corner or scroll down and click on the author or title in the list on the left side of the screen.
