Fall 2026 Book Nomination/Presentation Guidelines

Submit one book title and author (and any other important identifying information). You can send it in a reply to this message.

A book likely to stimulate a good discussion.

A book you would like to present to the group and lead a discussion about.

For our vote, please include a short description, your reasons for choosing your book, and any reasons why someone should vote to discuss that book!

I have lists of "Books Read" and "Nominated Not Chosen.” Any books we haven't read in 5 or more years might be of interest, and any on the "not chosen" list are good choices. Please let me know if you wish me to email one or both lists to you.

Please check on store and digital availability, Barnes & Noble, etc, for the book. List availability and prices in your nomination, if it’s simple. Steer away from books that are available in hardcover only and that seem expensive. "Trade paperbacks" are usually priced right. Please check availability carefully, as the market might be shifting as to what's being published on paper and what maybe digitally available only.  Looks like the Barnes & Noble is all in for the time being, but we don't yet have a feel for how they will be making the various forms of books available.

Please consider taking on the responsibility of leading our Book Club through book nominations after this year. You could use past emails such as this one for guidelines, you could co-lead with a friend, you could devise an entirely new method of nominating, you could revert the group to the way we used to nominate in the past - anything goes! I'm helping with the nomination process now but won't be leading it again next Spring.

Thanks for participating in the nominating process!
